JOB TITLE: Information Systems Specialist JOB SUMMARY: Embrace a pivotal role at William Penn University (WPU) as an Information Systems Specialist, contributing to the creation of a dynamic learning community for students, faculty, and staff. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive technical support for the university’s computing and information resources. Information Systems Specialists may have a primary assignment to support a specific academic or administrative unit, a particular campus, or may serve the entire university in an at-large technician role. DEPARTMENT: Information Technology QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. TECHNICAL PROFICIENCIES: Proficient in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Knowledgeable in computer hardware, software, and network systems. Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools. ABILITIES AND SKILLS: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Capacity to manage multiple priorities and tasks efficiently. Attention to detail and accuracy in recording technical support requests and resolutions. Commitment to staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends. Office management and coordination abilities. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Respond to incoming technical support requests via phone, email, or in-person and provide timely assistance to users. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for clients. Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, peripherals, and software applications. Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate teams or senior technicians for resolution. Maintain accurate records of technical support requests and resolutions using our ticketing system. Provide technical guidance and training to users on software and hardware usage. Flexibility to adjust work schedules to accommodate instructional needs, downtime, system emergencies, and other issues that mandate a change of priorities. Assist with the setup and configuration of new hardware and software systems. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in the IT field. Contribute to the improvement of IT processes and procedures. This position may require occasional weekend and evening hours. Other duties as assigned.
