Position Details Law School Computing Services (LSCS) provides technical support to students, staff, and faculty across all programs. The Sr. Technology Specialist delivers complex technical computing and instructional technology support, oversees classroom technology systems, and leads training and project-based work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide complex technical computing support, technical leadership, and training to the LSCS team and the School of Law community. This includes:
Assisting with routine and non‑routine service requests regarding desktop and classroom technology systems and managing requests through the tracking system to completion.
Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows and Mac hardware and software, deploying new hardware, maintaining an inventory database, installing software releases, system upgrades and patches, optimizing AD group policies, and recommending improvements.
Documenting, developing, and conducting user trainings on Law School software, hardware, and instructional technology systems.
Delegating work to team members and supervising student workers as directed.
Provide routine and non‑routine classroom technology and media support to faculty, staff, and students, including:
Maintaining, updating, and troubleshooting classroom technology systems.
Supporting the Weekend JD Program.
Advising on classroom technology requirements and limitations.
Preparing rooms with appropriate equipment for events such as teaching, meetings, and seminars.
Troubleshooting issues for online course/conference moderators and attendees.
Support Law School Exams, including pre‑exam setup, communication, and support during exam periods.
Work as a member of a team on various technology projects, responding to changing priorities and alternating between desktop and instructional technology support.
Maintain security protocols for Law School systems and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Communicate collaboratively and proactively to deliver high‑quality support.
Support educational programs and conferences, including Weekend JD program events.
Perform additional tasks as needed, supporting IT projects and contributing to operational improvements.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience desirable. 2+ years of technical experience desirable. Project management experience. Experience providing technical training.

Using PowerShell and other scripting.

Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience desirable.
5+ years of technical experience or related field desirable.
General knowledge of commonly used industry concepts, practices, and procedures.
Computer Skills
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Exchange or similar email systems.
Extensive experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows 10/11 and macOS hardware and software, Active Directory, and classroom and AV technology.
Advanced understanding of network technologies.
Experience using Microsoft SCCM.
In‑depth knowledge of one or more operating systems and ability to learn at least two scripting languages.
Physical Demands Repetitive motions.
