Overview
Evolutionary Genomics Tenure Track Faculty Position in Biology Department, The Eberly College of Science, The Pennsylvania State University. The Department of Biology seeks applicants for an Assistant/Associate Level Tenure Track faculty position in the broad area of “Evolutionary Genomics.” Our department has key strengths in Evolutionary Genomics/Genetics, Ecology, Plant Biology, Neuroscience, Coral Biology, Microbiome Science, and Infectious Disease Dynamics. Successful candidates’ research may include wet-lab, computational and/or theoretical approaches. The life sciences at Penn State are highly interdisciplinary, and we therefore seek candidates who collaborate across diverse fields housed in various departments, colleges, and institutes. Potential collaboration areas may include chemistry, math, biochemistry, statistics, engineering, medicine, health and human development, social sciences, data science/machine learning. Responsibilities
Develop and/or maintain an independent, externally funded and internationally recognized research program in evolutionary genomics. Provide excellent instruction to undergraduate and graduate students in the life sciences. Contribute active service to the department, college, university, professional community, and the public. Collaborate across disciplines within Penn State’s life science community and participate in interdepartmental/interdisciplinary centers and programs as available. Qualifications
Assistant Professor level: Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience. Associate Professor level: demonstrated record of research and mentoring within the field. Application Materials and Process
