Overview

Associate/Full Professor, The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), College of Health and Human Development (HHD), The Pennsylvania State University. We invite applications for an associate or full-rank tenure-line faculty position. The anticipated start date is negotiable. We seek to build on strengths in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and connections to other departmental areas. The CSD department is committed to growing its AAC research, clinic, and outreach programs at Penn State, and is searching for a senior faculty member to contribute to or complement these efforts. Strategic areas reflect the expertise of the current AAC faculty at Penn State: (1) development of interfaces between individuals and AAC technologies; (2) development of high- and low-technology means to assess intervention efficacy across populations, including low-resource communities; (3) expansion of implementation sciences in AAC, including literacy applications; (4) an integrated clinical and outreach approach to incorporating AAC into clinical service, academic instruction, and research. Existing AAC research at Penn State spans basic science on system design and access through intervention research to implementation science, offering a wide range of opportunities for the new faculty member. The CSD Department and College of Health and Human Development encourage applicants who would enrich the diversity of our academic community. See Penn State University's diversity statement at equity.psu.edu/psu-diversity-statement. Penn State embraces inclusion as a core strength and essential element of our public service mission.
