We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have experience across HR functions including onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. This is a dynamic role supporting both office staff and field employees, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding & Compliance Prepare and send offer letters for office staff Facilitate HR portion of new hire orientation Maintain personnel files (electronic and paper) Ensure compliance with I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Manage DMV pull notice program and insurance broker communications Process employee terminations, certifications, and updates in HR systems Benefits Administration Assist with benefit renewals, open enrollment, and employee communications Resolve claims and audit monthly invoices Review and approve enrollments, cancellations, and changes Administer leave of absence processes, COBRA, disability, and ACA compliance Support employees with benefit-related questions and options Payroll Process weekly payroll in compliance with recordkeeping requirements Update payroll systems with pay increases, deductions, garnishments, and 401k changes Handle unemployment audits, VOE requests, EDD claims, and special payroll reports Upload yearly benefit deductions and manage year-round updates Participate in payroll automation projects Additional HR Functions Support petty cash management and anniversary awards Participate in safety/claims management meetings Enforce company policies and procedures Manage HR-related inquiries from employees, supervisors, and applicants Administer 401k transactions (loans, hardship withdrawals, terminations) Conduct exit interviews and process final paychecks when needed Maintain and develop HR department SOPs Qualifications
3+ years of HR Generalist experience preferred Strong knowledge of HR compliance, payroll, and benefits administration Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems (experience with S2 a plus) Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
