Job Summary The Project Field Engineer is primarily responsible for providing engineering and project coordination support for two ongoing EPC gas compressor station projects. This role ensures technical accuracy, supports field and design activities, and facilitates alignment between engineering, construction, procurement, and project controls teams. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Key Responsibilities: Support project execution for two active EPC gas compressor station projects from engineering through construction. Review, interpret, and track design drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Coordinate with engineering disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, I&E) to resolve design and field issues. Interface with vendors, procurement staff, and subcontractors to ensure materials and equipment meet project requirements. Assist with RFIs, submittal reviews, technical clarifications, and change management processes. Monitor project schedules, deliverable milestones, and engineering progress. Support construction teams with technical analysis, field validations, and redlines/as-built documentation. Participate in site visits and walkdowns to verify installation and design alignment. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications (e.g., ASME, API, NFPA). Contribute to risk assessments, quality reviews, and constructability evaluations. Prepare and maintain engineering logs, reports, and project tracking tools. Coordinate with project controls on cost, quantities, forecasting, and progress reporting. Support commissioning, testing, and turnover documentation as needed. Assist with the preparation of daily field reports. Required Skills/Abilities: Experience with gas compressor stations, pipelines, or related infrastructure. Familiarity with engineering workflows, construction processes, and technical document control. Experience with compressor packages, piping systems, foundations, instrumentation, and balance of plant. Knowledge of industry codes (API, ASME, NFPA) and client standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, or similar tools. Strong technical analysis and problem-solving. Ability to manage multiple workstreams across concurrent projects. Excellent communication and coordination abilities with cross-functional teams. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation habits. Comfortable working in field office locations on the jobsite. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related Engineering field. PE or EIT license preferred. 7-10 years of experience supporting EPC or capital projects in the oil & gas, midstream, or energy sector. Regulated utility industry experience preferred. Experience in the oil and gas or midstream industry, especially with compressor stations, pipelines, and high-pressure facilities. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, processes, and relevant industry standards. Familiarity with software, such as Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Project. The ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and schematics. Working Conditions This position will be based on-site with travel to other project jobsites. Work schedule will be based on final construction work schedule and determined by the client. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move about the inside and outside of the location to access and observe construction activities office equipment, etc. The person in this position may frequently travel, attend meetings and communicate with key stakeholder, EPC Contractor and employees and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a computer, copy machine, etc. required to effectively perform required job functions.
