ELECTRICITY: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit) – San Diego Community College District Posting details indicate a pool for adjunct/substitute instructors across district campuses with open and variable assignments. Applications may be reviewed on a rolling basis for possible fall, spring, and/or summer assignments. Positions are part-time/temporary and require living within commuting distance to San Diego. Major Responsibilities

Primary duties related to curriculum and teaching; assignment may be split between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Adjunct instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class. Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas. Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member. Teach all scheduled classes. Maintain accurate records. Provide quality instruction and create an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment; OR Any Associate degree AND six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the area of assignment; OR The equivalent. AND, Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff. Licenses/Certificates/Credentials

California Community College Instructor Credential in Electricity (valid for life) if possessed. Desirable/Equivalency

Equivalency: If you do not possess the exact degrees listed, complete a Request for Equivalency Form and attach it during the application process. Foreign Degree: Degrees from outside the United States must be evaluated by a professional credential evaluation service (NACES or AICE) and submitted with the online application.
