COMMERCIAL MUSIC: Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit)
– San Diego Community College District.
Open until filled. Position Type: Adjunct. Location: District Wide. Pay based on current salary schedule. Applicants must submit official transcripts and other relevant documentation.
Major Responsibilities
Primary duties related to curriculum and teaching; assignment divided between lecture and lab as determined by department. Adjunct instructional faculty required to be available to students outside of class.
Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
Teach all scheduled classes.
Maintain accurate records.
Provide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues.
Minimum Qualifications
Any Bachelor's degree AND 2 years of professional experience directly related to area of assignment; OR
Any Associate degree AND 6 years of professional experience directly related to area of assignment; OR
The equivalent.
Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.
Desired Qualifications
California Community College Instructor Credential in Commercial Music (valid for life).
Foreign degree evaluation required for applicants with foreign degrees; evaluation must be submitted with application.
Licenses / Certificates / Credentials
California Community College Instructor Credential in Commercial Music (valid for life).
Prior to Employment
Submit official college transcripts.
Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (renew every 4 years).
Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at district expense (clearance prior to first day of employment).
Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in United States.
Additional Information Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.
