Overview
School psychologists in virtual settings typically maintain schedules of 35-37.5 hours weekly, providing evaluation and consultation services to students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Using telepractice methods, you’ll deliver the full range of school psychological services including assessment, intervention planning, and collaborative problem-solving with educational teams. Your contributions directly impact student access to appropriate educational services and supports. Responsibilities
Administer and interpret psychological and psychoeducational assessments to determine student eligibility for special education and related services. Conduct initial evaluations, reevaluations, and additional assessments as requested by IEP teams. Utilize evidence-based assessment practices adapted for virtual administration while maintaining standardization and validity. Prepare detailed written reports that integrate assessment findings with developmental, educational, and behavioral information to provide comprehensive student profiles. Serve as a contributing member of multidisciplinary teams, sharing expertise during IEP development and revision meetings. Offer consultation to general and special education teachers regarding instructional strategies, classroom management, and student support. Implement and monitor behavioral intervention strategies, working with staff and families to promote positive behavioral change. Provide short-term counseling interventions addressing academic concerns, social skills development, and adjustment issues. Participate in problem-solving teams and contribute to data-based decision making regarding student interventions. Stay current with professional standards, ethical guidelines, and best practices in school psychology and special education. Required Education and Experience
Must hold active School Psychologist licensure issued by the Nevada State Board and possess a Master’s degree or Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology. Minimum two years of experience providing school psychological services in K-12 educational settings. Strong assessment skills across cognitive, academic, and behavioral domains. Understanding of diverse learning needs and culturally responsive evaluation practices. Experience with virtual service delivery models is preferred, but training may be provided. Professional verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with students, families, and school personnel in remote contexts. Technical Capabilities
Position requires comfort with technology platforms used in teletherapy, virtual meetings, and electronic documentation systems, along with workspace conditions conducive to confidential professional practice. Compensation and Contact
