Market Summary
New full service hospital with 106 beds in northwest El Paso.
The Medical Plaza adjacent to the campus provides physician clinic space.
Teaching facility for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso students, residents, nursing students and researchers.
Will train up to 100 medical residents across a multi‑year program.
Advanced health services include Cardiac Catheterization, Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Endocrinology, GI Medicine, Gynecology, Hematology, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Neurology, Neonatology, Oncology, Orthopedic Surgery, Pathology, Pulmonary Medicine, Radiology, Spinal Fusion, Urology and Vascular Surgery.
Position Summary The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for safeguarding facility assets and ensuring financial statements, books and records are prepared in accordance with GAAP. The CFO ensures compliance with company financial policies, effective internal controls, and participates in strategic business planning as a member of the Facility A‑Team.
Functional Expectations & Requirements The CFO identifies and assesses financial risk, monitors performance, and communicates risk and opportunities to the Group CFO and Facility CEO. Responsibilities include revenue cycle oversight, capital project evaluation, and collaboration with home‑office support functions.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze daily operating results; advise department heads on needed changes.
Maintain sound financial controls and approve expenditures within delegated authority.
Stay current with government regulations and reimbursement changes; update policies accordingly.
Ensure ethical and responsible financial operations.
Establish and monitor the annual operating budget; coordinate workforce and compensation planning.
Prepare periodic financial and operating reports; ensure consistent accounting processes.
Develop financial forecasts, rolling 90‑day forecasts, and cash management controls.
Collaborate on strategic and financial plans, including capital expenditures.
Review and improve financial and accounting systems; lead implementation of new policies.
Analyze feasibility of new programs and managed‑care contracts; advise management.
Perform administrative duties such as signing documents, preparing reports, and completing performance appraisals.
Candidate Experience, Attributes, and Education Requirements At least ten years of progressive financial healthcare experience, including general accounting, operations, financial systems, statement preparation, multi‑discipline management, and ethics.
Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage workload under pressure.
Ability to translate complex finance, operational, and compliance issues for all organizational levels.
Proven track record in facility finance and improving financial performance.
Experience negotiating managed‑care contracts and supervising related activities.
Extensive financial management experience in a complex environment (budgeting, capital financing, reimbursement).
Deep understanding of healthcare trends and ability to anticipate opportunities.
Successful experience as a CFO in a competitive market.
