HEROIC.com ( HEROIC.com ) is seeking a Senior IT and Desktop Support Technician to help manage IT operations for our clients in the Monterey Bay area. We are looking for someone who is ready to make a difference and help us build the future of security-focused IT services.
As a member of the IT Team, you will be responsible for the hands‑on management and support of our clients’ IT systems. This includes installing, configuring, testing, deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting hardware, software, and networking for users within a mixed Windows environment.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical proficiency, and excellent interpersonal skills.
This position requires to work 100% onsite in Watsonville, CA.
Responsibilities Maintain and administer hundreds of computer systems and related computing environments including computer hardware, servers, software and networking devices.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software and networks.
Work closely with the remote helpdesk team to resolve tickets.
Computer Installations and Imaging.
Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation of system configurations and processes.
Software Management & Installations.
Network and networking device troubleshooting.
Participation in periodic security audits, accountable for ensuring security controls are adhered to, systems are secure, and unauthorized access is prevented.
Assist in documentation and implement IT policies and procedures.
Requirements BS/BA Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or comparable experience/certifications in an IT related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or related technical roles.
Well versed in a broad set of technologies including networking, storage, service desk, cybersecurity, virtualization, cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS), etc. - Microsoft Windows, Linux - Active Directory, Office365 - Enterprise Networking - Virtual environments - Storage technologies.
Experience deploying and supporting cloud‑based applications.
Knowledgeable with cybersecurity Best Practices, HIPAA, and/or HITECH requirements.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent English verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications Healthcare‑related IT Experience and/or industry knowledge is a plus.
Experience working with remote/offshore teams.
Project Management Training or experience (including software) preferred.
Background working with an MSP or MSSP environment is an added advantage.

Compensation:
$50,000-70,000 annually, depending on experience
