LOCATION: Fort Lauderdale Campus

Passion: Providing accurate and timely financial information for various Calvary Chapel ministries applying proper accounting principles. Confidently work with ministry overseers as they make financial decisions and the Accounting team throughout the closing process. Able to organize work and meet deadlines consistently.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the monthly accounting and financial reporting, journal entries.
- Research and respond to questions related to donor giving and deposits.
- Assist with annual financial statement audits; prepare required audit schedules, provide account information, and answer auditors' questions.
- Record weekly tithe and offerings in Ministry Platform and PushPay.
- Distribute, reconcile, and account for the petty cash fund and oversee the annual petty cash fund reconciliation required for the audit
- Be responsible for contributions reporting, A/R recording
- Be responsible for accounts Payable backup for invoice processing and credit card transaction review
- Research and respond to vendor inquiries and maintain A/P Vendor files including W-9 files, and ACH verification (including contract and COI confirmation)
- Participate in annual 1099 processing
- Maintain PCI compliance and records for merchant accounts
- Research and resolve all merchant account issues
- Record monthly merchant account fees
- Record Campus miscellaneous revenue
- Record all miscellaneous deposits for Church/CCA
- Maintain/instruct Clover devices for various ministries; run related reports
- Maintain updated policy and procedures manual for process as related to Accountant role
- Assist in special projects requested by the CFO or Controller
Requirements
- Working knowledge of basic accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft software: Word and Excel, Sage Intacct is a plus
- Gift of administration and work well in a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills for relating effectively with staff members, leadership, and volunteers
- Excellent organizational skills with an appreciation for details
- Excellent planning and follow through ability
- Minimum 45 words per minute typing
- Ability to be flexible and demonstrate excellent time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to complete projects on time and follow-through efficiently
- Works well with people and exhibit professional demeanor and work area
- Keeps confidential matters confidential
What you are required to know:

- You may have to work evenings and/or weekends to assist with special events, emergencies, or monthly/annual closing
