Senior Financial Analyst – Cost Accounting & FP&A

Overview We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to lead the development of our cost accounting and FP&A functions. This role will be instrumental in building cost models, analyzing ROI for strategic initiatives, validating capital investments, and enhancing financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in product costing, financial statement analysis, and ERP systems—particularly Sage.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed cost models for products and operations.
Analyze ROI and financial viability of new projects, capital expenditures, and strategic initiatives.
Validate historical capital investments and assess ongoing performance.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
Improve financial reporting tools and dashboards to enhance decision-making.
Collaborate with operations, sales, and executive leadership to provide financial insights.
Implement and optimize cost accounting processes and controls.
Utilize Sage ERP to extract, analyze, and report financial data.
Support month-end and year-end close processes with financial analysis and reporting.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA/CMA preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in cost accounting, FP&A, or related financial analysis roles.
Strong understanding of product costing, financial statements, and capital budgeting.
Proficiency in Sage ERP systems and advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Attributes
Experience in manufacturing and diary; product-based industries at a minimum.
Proven track record of building financial models and improving reporting processes.
Strategic mindset with attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement.
