Texas State School of Social Work invites applications for two full-time nine-month faculty positions: one rank of tenure-track assistant professor and one rank of associate professor. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate social work students on campus and online; developing new courses; conducting research with the expectation of obtaining external funding and publishing in top-tier journals; involving students in research; and participating in appropriate service activities at all levels. Collectively, this position includes teaching, scholarship, and professional, school, and university service.
Required Qualifications
Earned DSW or Ph.D. in social work or related field. For assistant professor applicants, ABD status will be considered, but the doctorate must be awarded prior to the start date.
Scholarly record consistent with the anticipated faculty rank.
Experience conducting research related to one or more social work issues.
Experience teaching at the university level in the classroom or field education.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate and undergraduate student mentoring.
Post-graduate practice experience in social work or related field.
Postdoctoral or other advanced professional training related to teaching, research, and service.
Demonstrated evidence of campus and community engagement.
Evidence of recent publications in indexed and peer-reviewed journals.
Experience with external funding and/or plans for securing external funding to support their research agenda.
Two years of experience in social work practice or related fields.
