Job Summary And Responsibilities
As a Labor & Delivery Nurse at Glendale Memorial Medical Center, part of CommonSpirit Health, you guide patients through labor and childbirth focusing on maternal and infant safety with kindness and compassion.
You may triage walk-ins, perform screening exams, assist with induction and delivery, monitor dilation and fetal heart rate, coach mothers, and support partners and loved ones.
You must remain calm in emergencies, handle rapid changes, and provide compassionate care through joyous and difficult milestones.

Responsibilities
Triage walk-ins to determine if a patient is in labor, water broken, false alarm.
Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance, pain management, and fetal monitoring.
Assist and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections, tubal ligation, cerclage, and emergency procedures.
Educate patients on interventions, procedures, medications, exams, and labor stages.
Assess newborn and provide newborn care.
Communicate with the care management team: anesthesiologist, physician or midwife, lactation nurse, charge nurse, postpartum unit, patient and family.
Job Requirements
6 months acute care experience in labor and delivery; one year preferred.
Minimum education required for licensure.
Basic Fetal Monitoring, NRP, ACLS, BLS certifications required.
Current California license as a Registered Nurse.
Position represented by CNA.
