An established Vault-ranked law firm in Nashville, TN seeks a Junior Intellectual Property Associate to join its dynamic Intellectual Property Litigation, Trademarks, and Patent team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside nationally recognized IP attorneys and develop skills across both litigation and prosecution matters.
Job Overview The ideal candidate will bring 1–2 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution and possess strong technical credentials in mechanical or chemical engineering. The role supports IP practice handling patents, trademarks, and licensing matters for a broad client roster.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in patent preparation and prosecution for diverse industries.
Support attorneys in trademark registration, enforcement, and licensing.
Draft, review, and file IP-related documents with the USPTO.
Collaborate on IP litigation matters, conducting research and drafting legal arguments.
Communicate effectively with clients, inventors, and internal teams regarding case progress.
Contribute to the development and protection of client intellectual property portfolios.
Qualifications
1–2 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required.
Registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Admitted in good standing to a state Bar where the firm has an office (preference for NC and/or SC).
Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
