REGULATORY SUPERVISOR/CONSULTANT – SES – 79000815
This Selected Exempt Service (SES) position oversees the functions and regulatory activities of an office processing team within the Bureau of Licensing. The regulatory supervisor/consultant works independently to perform eligibility determinations for the issuance of alcoholic beverage, cigarette, and tobacco licenses, permits, and registrations throughout Florida.
The Work You Will Do
Review applications for licenses, permits, and registrations to ensure applicants, premises, and locations are qualified for licensure.
Correspond with applicants regarding omissions or deficiencies in license applications.
Process routine and complex applications based on department policy, Florida Administrative Code, or Florida Statutes.
Evaluate qualifications and requirements to determine eligibility for licensure.
Determine approval or denial of applications submitted for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
Maintain accurate and consistent data in all necessary systems, logs, and applicable data systems.
Provide excellent customer service, accurate information, and specific guidance to internal and external customers regarding licensure functions.
Prepare reports and documentation to provide information to the division, department, licensees, and the public.
Process fee payments to ensure all monies received are deposited in the correct bank account accurately and timely.
Respond to internal and external inquiries concerning licensure requirements and other pertinent information regarding laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
Supervise a work group of licensing staff, including approval of attendance and leave, employee performance planning and evaluations, recruitment and selection, employee development, and other supervisory duties.
Conduct review audits of applications for licensure processed by staff to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, fee receipt, and database recording.
Coordinate with regional managers and other district office supervisors to ensure consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness of statewide licensing operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to convey information to diverse audiences.
Understand and apply applicable statutes, rules, policies, and procedures.
Prioritize work and ensure proper completion of assignments.
Train others and provide consultative assistance.
Compile, organize, and analyze data, and prepare comprehensive reports related to licensing activities.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Knowledge of personnel/human resource policies and practices.
Knowledge of computer systems and software used for writing, calculating, data entry, and licensing application processing functions.
Knowledge of techniques for handling complaints and dealing with the public.
Have two (2) years of experience in a supervisory position or capacity.
Have three (3) years of customer service experience.
Have experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Be available to travel with little to no notice when required.
Preferred
Experience inputting and reviewing data within an automated data records system.
Experience working with Versa Regulation licensing system and OnBase.
