Position Overview:
The Director of Logistics will oversee the Warehouse, Purchasing, Tool Room, Transportation, Fleet, and Facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective logistics operations, including management of supply chain, transportation, and facilities. The Director of Logistics will develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, negotiate with customers, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Management: Oversee all logistics operations, including purchasing, warehousing, shipping/receiving, and tool room. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and products.
Supply Chain: Oversee all supply chain operations, including vendor management, terms and condition negotiation, and ensuring compliance with our vendor programs.
Team Leadership: Lead and manage the logistics team, including Warehouse Manager, Tool Room Manager, Purchasing Manager, transportation, fleet, and facilities staff to provide guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve logistics performance.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the logistics budget. Monitor expenses and implement cost‑saving measures.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
Technology Integration: Source, select, and utilize technology to improve logistics operations. Implement and manage logistics software and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement logistics strategies to support company goals and objectives. Collaborate with other departments to align logistics operations with overall business strategy.
Secondary Job Functions:
Weekly 1:1 meetings with direct reports.
Bi‑weekly 1:1 meetings with the Manufacturing Director
Research and implement tools and software to improve service delivery and efficiency.
Review and approve timecards and productivity reports.
Review and approve time off requests.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in logistics software and systems. Knowledge of inventory management, transportation management, and warehouse management systems.
Financial Acumen: Strong financial management skills. Ability to develop and manage budgets, analyze financial data, and implement cost‑saving measures.
Customer Focus: Strong customer service orientation. Ability to understand and meet the needs of internal and external customers.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities. Flexibility to manage unexpected challenges and opportunities.

Education/Experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration; or a minimum of 15 years related experience.
Licensing or Other Special Certifications Required:
Maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
