Director of Logistics
Aston Carter is seeking an experienced logistics leader to oversee all operations, drive process improvements, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and products. The Director will manage a cross‑functional logistics team, partner with suppliers, and support the company’s supply chain strategy.
Responsibilities
Oversee all logistics operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials and products.
Manage supply chain operations, including vendor management and compliance with vendor programs.
Lead and manage the logistics team, including Warehouse Manager, Tool Room Manager, Purchasing Manager, transportation, fleet, and facilities staff.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve logistics performance.
Develop and manage the logistics budget, monitoring expenses and implementing cost‑saving measures.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, implementing and enforcing safety protocols.
Source, select, and utilize technology to improve logistics operations, implementing and managing logistics software and systems.
Develop and implement logistics strategies to support company goals and collaborate with other departments to align operations with overall business strategy.
Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with direct reports and bi‑weekly meetings with the Manufacturing Director.
Research and implement tools and software to improve service delivery and efficiency.
Review and approve timecards, productivity reports, and time off requests.
Qualifications
Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high‑performing logistics team.
Analytical skills to analyze data, identify trends, problem‑solve, and make data‑driven decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Excellent negotiation skills for dealing effectively with suppliers and vendors.
Organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in logistics software and systems, with knowledge of inventory management, transportation management, and warehouse management systems.
Strong financial management skills, including budget development and management, financial data analysis, and cost‑saving measures.
Strong customer service orientation to understand and meet the needs of internal and external customers.
Adaptability to changing business needs and priorities, with the flexibility to manage unexpected challenges and opportunities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in warehouse management, production, shipping and receiving, P&L, and operations management.
Oversight experience in Warehouse, Purchasing, Tool Room, Transportation, Fleet, and Facilities.
Work Environment The position is based onsite at the Everett Facility, with a hybrid work model being implemented. The role initially requires onsite presence, with potential for hybrid arrangements in the future.
Job Type & Location Permanent position based out of Lynnwood, Washington.
