Position Summary: Reporting to the Associate Director of Administration for the
LSU - LCMC
Health Cancer Center and the Associate Dean for Finance and Administration, incumbent is responsible for managing all fiscal and administrative matters of the department/center in an independent manner. The Business Manager is responsible for maintaining the fiscal integrity of the department/center; this includes but is not limited to ensuring that all expenditures are within budgets and available sources of funding. Incumbent will educate the faculty on funds management and will be responsible for implementing and adhering to all relevant rules, regulations and procedures as they relate to the administrative and financial operation of the department/center.
This position will manage the fiscal and administrative operations of the Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center and the Department of Interdisciplinary Oncology. Duties include but are not limited to: pre- and post-award grant management, contract negotiations, departmental hiring and personnel processes, budget development and overall operational aspects of the department.
Required Education: Bachelor's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
Minimum 5 years Relevant professional level experience
Degree in other area will be considered with additional 3 years of relevant experience. Master’s degree in a business oriented discipline can substitute for 2 years experience
Preferred: Masters in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
Preferred:
5 years progressively more responsible experience. Experience with grants administration. Experience in an academic setting.
