RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST - MRI (100% FTE, VARIABLE DAYS)
$10,000 Sign-on Bonus
for eligible new part-time and full-time employees joining UW Medicine.
WORK SCHEDULE 40 hours per week; 100% FTE; 4 x 10‑hour VARIABLE DAY SHIFTS.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Prepares patients for examinations, explains the procedure and answers patient questions; screens patients for any contraindication to MRI exam.
Reviews patient medical history on exam request; consults physician as necessary to ensure proper exam for each patient.
Prescribes proper scanning parameters for common MRI exams with documented or computer‑prescribed protocols; determines optimal imaging options to minimize artifacts and decrease scan time; administers appropriate contrast.
Administers contrast under supervision of Radiologist.
Assures patients are properly scheduled in the Radiology Information System (RIS) and that exams are completed with proper billing.
Ensures exam is transmitted, archived and sent to PACS correctly.
Monitors equipment to ensure a diagnostic exam.
Troubleshoots and repairs basic system malfunctions.
Practices equipment safety policies and procedures.
Restocks rooms with all supplies as needed.
Requirements
Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.
Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA‑approved school and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent education/experience.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when legal requirements exist.
Compensation and Benefits Pay Range Minimum:
$101,952.00 annual Pay Range Maximum:
$159,480.00 annual Other Compensation:
Additional $2.50/hr weekend premium (if applicable), Additional $1.25/hr certification pay premium (ARRT‑R‑MRI), Additional $2.75/hr night shift differential (if applicable).
