Position Overview The Plant HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all HR functions for a manufacturing facility, including
recruiting, employee relations, compliance, training and development, benefits administration, timekeeping, and workers’ compensation . This role supports approximately
425 employees
across two buildings and works closely with plant leadership to address employee needs and drive HR initiatives.
This is a hands‑on generalist role with a strong focus on
hourly recruiting ,
employee coaching , and
floor‑level engagement . The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and comfortable managing high‑volume recruiting while also handling sensitive employee relations matters.
Key Responsibilities
Lead full-cycle recruiting for plant roles, including interviewing, touring, and onboarding.
Conduct weekly new hire orientations and support HR-related training.
Serve as a resource for employee questions and concerns, including attendance and disciplinary issues.
Coach managers on performance management and employee relations.
Conduct investigations and support resolution of workplace conflicts.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Update and maintain HR policies and procedures.
Support HRIS updates, timekeeping, and attendance tracking.
Assist with benefit communications and provider changes.
Participate in employee events and volunteer initiatives.
Serve on the HR safety committee to assess workplace issues and their impact on recruiting.
Collaborate on corporate HR projects and initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of HR experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Strong recruiting experience, especially at the hourly level.
Experience with coaching, investigations, and employee relations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); Adobe PDF a plus.
Familiarity with HRIS systems (experience with UKG Ready or similar platforms preferred).
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Willingness to travel occasionally and support after-hours events.
Physical Requirements
Frequent communication via phone, email, video, and in-person.
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
Walking throughout the facility to engage with employees and coordinate events.
Occasionally lift/move up to 20–40 lbs.
Occasional travel to other local sites.
Standard office setting with moderate noise levels from office equipment and adjacent manufacturing areas.
