Center Store Manager — Lucky – 5190 Clayton Rd., Concord, CA 94521

The Center Store Manager ensures that customers’ needs are met and exceeded through effective day-to-day management of the operations and merchandising functions for the Center Store Department. This position oversees Center Store product and conditions to optimize sales, profits, and customer satisfaction, including back room conditions, steel/shelving, inventory, schematics, and pricing. Key responsibilities include: Leading and developing Center Store associates to promote a culture reflective of Lucky's mission statement and winning behaviors. Managing department performance and productivity to optimize store performance. Training and developing associates for career advancement. Qualifications: Education: Two-year college degree (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience). Experience: Completion of Assistant Center Store Manager rotation or two years equivalent management experience or current Bakery, Meat, or Produce Department Manager role. Other: Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours; must be forklift certified. Physical: Requires standing and other physical movements on a frequent basis; requires lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance. Competencies: Customer Focus Leading People Management Skills Personal/Interpersonal Skills Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership/team building, customer service, training, organization, math and administration (to include department financial) skills. Knowledge of department operations and financials, store hazardous materials and food safety rules, products, visual merchandising techniques, use and care of center store equipment and tools, applicable union contractual agreement language.
