POSITION INFORMATION The San Diego Community College District accepts applications for adjunct positions. Applicants may join the adjunct pool and will be considered for fall, spring, and/or summer assignments. Positions are as‑needed; applicants should reside within commuting distance to San Diego.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach lecture and/or lab classes per department schedule.
Maintain accurate records and class materials.
Provide quality instruction and foster an environment of free discussion.
Remain available to students outside of class.
Adhere to professional conduct and ethics.
Fulfill part‑time/temporary faculty duties.
Keep current knowledge in subject areas.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology; or Bachelor’s in Anthropology or Archaeology AND Master’s in Sociology, Biological Sciences, Forensic Sciences, Genetics, or Paleontology; or California Community College Instructor Credential (valid for life) in Anthropology or Archaeology.
Master’s degree in any biological science; or Bachelor’s in any biological science AND Master’s in Biochemistry, Biophysics, or Marine Science; or Credential in Biological Sciences.
Master’s degree in Philosophy; or Bachelor’s in Philosophy AND Master’s in Humanities or Religious Studies; or Credential in Philosophy and Religion.
Master’s degree in Geography; or Bachelor’s in Geography AND Master’s in Geology, History, Meteorology, or Oceanography; or Credential in Geography.
Master’s degree in Sociology; or Bachelor’s in Sociology AND Master’s in Anthropology, ethnic studies, Social Work, or Psychology; or Credential in Sociology.
Desired qualifications: equivalent credentials. Foreign applicants must have degree evaluation by a NACES or ACEI member.
PRE‑EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Submit official college transcripts.
Provide Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam (renewed every 4 years).
Complete Live Scan fingerprints.
Provide proof of U.S. work eligibility.
