Fundraising Manager – California Central Chapter
Location: Santa Barbara, CA.
Full time Exempt, based on 37.5 hours per week minimum. Reports to: Director of Development.
Position Summary: Do What You Love to End ALZ is a signature event of The Alzheimer’s Association, one of the fastest growing and unique campaigns of its kind in the world. As the exclusive manager for this event in your community, you will leverage your proven networking and relationship‑building skills to identify and cultivate key community connections, corporate partnerships, and new audiences that drive campaign success. You will also proactively recruit, train, coach, and inspire a Volunteer Committee and Executive Leadership Team to achieve fundraising and event‑planning goals.
Responsibilities
Build sustainable corporate and community relationships that contribute to achieving event revenue goals and create greater brand awareness.
Recruit, manage, and coach volunteer committees to implement best practices and achieve fundraising goals.
Coach and inspire individuals and teams to set and reach revenue goals.
Identify, recruit, and engage new companies and activity‑based groups in your community.
Manage volunteer‑led events that have resulted in revenue growth year over year.
Create a positive, healthy, and inclusive team environment that sustains long‑term community and volunteer relationships.
Achieve or surpass designated financial and participant goals through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation, and community partnerships.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of proven experience in volunteer committee development.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Confident, goal‑oriented, positive self‑starter able to work independently and collaboratively.
Creative community growth strategist focused on target markets such as golf, hiking, livestreaming, and pickleball.
Execute plans with the Volunteer Committee and Executive Leadership Team to recruit and retain participants.
Demonstrated ability to cultivate sustainable corporate relationships and partnerships.
Eager to network and build community relationships year‑round to recruit and retain volunteers, companies, organizations, and activity groups.
Create unique, engaging community outreach activities promoting the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission.
Maintain year‑round relationships with National Team partners and constituents to ensure involvement in all relevant chapter activities and recognition opportunities.
Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
Willingness to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory by car; supporting following travel requirements and vehicle qualifications.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Physical ability to bend, stoop, lift, and transport up to 25 lbs.
Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office, social media, and experience with Luminate/Convio software.
Responsible for other duties as assigned.
Position Grade & Compensation Grade 305. Annual salary range: $70,000–$80,000.
