Client Billing Representative

working in the Finance Department helping attorneys and their assistants with the client billing and resolution of any billing issue. This position is a full-time, non-exempt role working in the Boston office five days with some flexibility to work remotely on an as needed basis based on department coverage.

Base pay range $57,000.00/yr - $71,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Reviews, prepares, and approves client bills according to attorney and client instructions.

Verifies the daily billing production.

Prepares time and billing reports using database software.

Prints and distributes attorney pre-bills and billing‑related reports as requested, and prepares ad hoc reports for attorneys/clients.

Provides training and support to attorneys and assistants for ExpertImage, iTimekeep, and PrebillManager.

Demonstrates a willingness to learn and use various third‑party billing systems.

Backs up the Client Billing team and fills in during absences, and provides back‑up coverage to other areas of Finance as applicable.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Management or Finance required.

At least three (3) years of applicable work experience in an accounting function preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Law Firm experience strongly preferred.

Essential Skills

Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofing for content and context.

Exceptional organization skills, attention to detail, flexibility and reliability to set priorities, manage multiple responsibilities and work well under pressure.

Ability to assume responsibility for assigned tasks with follow‑up and follow through and working in an efficient and timely manner.

Must have strong basic math skills and an understanding of basic accounting principles and an aptitude for working with numbers, and the software.

Ability to quickly, efficiently and consistently perform accurate math calculations as would pertain to basic accounting functions and/or spreadsheet work.

Strong interpersonal skills, including good verbal skills, tact and diplomacy, as well as the ability to interact positively with people all levels of the business.

Ability to work collaboratively with team members, as well as attorneys and staff throughout the Firm with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Remain composed and interact positively and professionally with higher management, peers and subordinates in all situations.

Adaptable to last minute changes and disruptions, and able to accommodate occasional overtime work.

Must be perceived as highly confidential as pertains to Firm, client and/or personal information.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for most of their job duties. There is a need to frequently move around the office. There will be a moderate amount of standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and reaching for some of their job duties. Visual requirements include reading on a computer screen as well as printed materials. A high degree of dexterity is required due to frequent use of a keyboard and telephone. Verbal and auditory requirements include the ability to communicate clearly over the telephone as well as in person. There is a low level of grasping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling of objects of less than 25 lbs.
