The Opportunity

Are you ready to take the initiative in creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments across multiple building complexes? As a Custodian 5, you'll be at the forefront of supervising and supporting custodial and general maintenance teams. You'll play a key role in ensuring our facilities run smoothly and efficiently.

In this role, you will:

  • Supervise and inspire a team of custodians, guiding their daily work and helping them succeed.
  • Plan and organize work schedules, supply needs, and staffing to keep operations running at their best.
  • Manage resources wisely, including budgeting for supplies and equipment.
  • Evaluate performance, enforce policies, and ensure procedures are followed correctly.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance our custodial operations and workplace standards.

As a successful candidate, you will work the swing shift from 6:30 pm to 3:30 am.

Additional Information

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary

$3,840 to $5,137 | Range 43 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.

Required Qualifications

  • Two years experience supervising or directing others in large-scale housekeeping, janitorial, general or building maintenance or custodial work; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 months or more in-depth knowledge of custodial procedures as performed in Facilities Operations.
