Responsibilities
- Perform custodial duties to maintain cleanliness and care of facilities within residence halls/apartments/dining.
- Perform routine maintenance work on buildings, facilities, and equipment.
- Willing and able to perform duties associated with commercial cleaning, painting, spackling/minor patching, and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Operate industrial cleaning equipment such as high speed buffers, burnishes, shampooers, and vacuum cleaners.
- Clean restrooms, classrooms, residence halls, offices and/or similar facilities.
- Move heavy items such as tables, furniture, cleaning equipment, supplies, and other related cleaning devices.
- Physical requirements include bending, stooping, lifting and moving items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds; standing and walking continuously during shifts; climbing and standing on ladders.
- Possible shifts: Monday - Friday, Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday at 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Qualifications
- Six months of experience in custodial, general or building maintenance, grounds keeping, or semi-skilled carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing repair work; or equivalent education/experience.
- Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet department driving standards.

Salary and Benefits
- Monthly Salary: $3,417 to $4,542 | Range 38 (Steps A - M)
- Salary is guided by WAC 357-28; placement based on experience, education, and abilities.

Required Qualifications
- The ability to do the required work and to read and write; six months of relevant experience as listed above.
- Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain by time of hire; adherence to SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
