Tarvos Talent is partnering with a client to search for a Senior Accountant to join their growing Houston-based team in a contractor capacity. Core Responsibilities:
Perform and review general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close activities.
Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Support audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support operational and financial initiatives.
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting efficiency.
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a corporate or public accounting environment.
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
