The Contracts/Funds Administrator (CFA) plays a crucial role in executing, overseeing, and managing contractual agreements and financial transactions within the organization. This multifaceted role requires a strong understanding of legal and financial processes, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Draft and create contracts, task orders, and delivery orders with support from the Engineer.
Draft emergency contracts and amendments in consultation with the Legal Department.
Prepare agenda items involving Engineering Services and review contract details.
Monitor and review active contracts and ensure correct proration of contract funds across City departments and external partners.
Prepare and execute consultant contracts and amendments as needed.
Prepare project budgets and collaborate with Engineers to prevent budget overruns.
Prepare interlocal agreements and project close‑outs.
Coordinate pre‑construction meetings and maintain technical expertise across project types.
Attempt to resolve contract issues and disputes.
Position Type and Typical Hours
Exempt – Full‑Time
Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
Flexibility required for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid driver’s license; out‑of‑state candidates must obtain a Texas license within 90 days of hire.
Proof of automobile liability insurance required.
Employment Testing
Criminal background check.
Motor vehicle record check.
Drug screening.
Physical exam.
Basis of Rating A recruiter will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications and may request additional information. The city may conduct additional skill assessment tests and panel interviews.

Applicants must provide proof of documentation for any required education level or license if selected.
