Opportunity
WSP is recruiting a Lead Civil/Site Development Engineer for our Power & Energy team in
Houston, TX . Candidates may also be considered for
Overland Park, KS; Oradell, NJ; Mount Laurel, NJ; Atlanta, GA; Seattle, WA; Boise, ID; and Hailey, ID . The role involves projects with power generation and aims to meet client objectives and solve challenges. Impact
Develop site layout, grading, storm water management, vehicular circulation, underground utilities, retaining walls, and wastewater management. Perform Earthwork and Erosion Control Calculations to avoid environmental impact and cost. Apply experience in a wide range of power plant technologies including biomass, municipal waste, geothermal, hydrogen, fossil fuel, carbon capture, battery energy storage, hydro, and solar. Coordinate surveying, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, and discipline coordination. Maintain strong working relationships with internal groups. Maintain quality relationships with clients, material suppliers, contractors, and others that affect project quality, schedule, and cost. Design stormwater management systems, including detention and infiltration systems to prevent flooding. Supervise and mentor less experienced Engineers and CAD Designers. Lead business development activities for company and Civil Discipline. Interface with state and local permitting agencies and construction entities for U.S. and international projects. Perform detailed engineering reviews of work submitted by others. Coordinate with the Project Engineer/Manager to meet project scope, budget, and quality expectations. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Who You Are
Required Qualifications
BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering) from an ABET‑accredited university. 7+ years of relevant post‑education civil engineering experience. Experience working in consulting firms. Professional Engineer License. Experience in site design for utilities, industrial facilities, municipal infrastructure, storm drainage and stormwater management design, site grading, roadway and utility design, sanitary sewer design and analysis, construction specification development, and construction bid packages. Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and other engineering design tools. Experience using Microsoft Office. Effective self‑leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities. Efficient communications and ability to work with remote team members through MS Teams, email, and telephone. Track record of upholding workplace safety and abiding by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Work schedule may extend beyond the typical workweek. Occasional travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications
Power plant and substation site design experience. Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and HydroCAD. Surveying and retaining wall design experience. Managerial and leadership skills, desire to become an Area Lead. Benefits

Expected Salary: $98,300 – $175,230 (all locations). WSP reserves the right to pay more or less and offer additional compensation as applicable. Seniority level
