Overview

Position: Senior Manager, Talent Management (SMTM) – leads day‑to‑day Talent Management operations while advancing people strategy across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, compensation, compliance, and culture at Community Connections in Washington, DC.

Salary range:

$90,000 – $110,000

based on experience. Location: Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff; oversee daily workflow and provide timely performance feedback.

Maintain compliant HR policies and handbook; ensure adherence to federal, DC, and local laws.

Administer performance management cycle: goal setting, reviews, PIPs; conduct discipline meetings, terminations, investigations.

Provide coaching and support to staff and managers on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, documentation, and termination processes.

Lead onboarding, orientation, and off‑boarding processes; coordinate new‑hire setup with IT, payroll, benefits, and finance.

Analyze trends and design competitive benefits programs; oversee open enrollment, benefit reconciliation, and data integrity.

Administer leave programs (FMLA, DC FMLA, ADA, workers’ comp, COBRA); manage accommodation and leave eligibility communications.

Maintain HR compliance with employment laws; conduct credentialing audits, review policies, and administer HRIS life‑cycle functions.

Generate monthly HR dashboards on headcount, diversity, turnover, time‑to‑fill, leave utilization, and run engagement surveys.

Coordinate mandatory trainings (Harassment Prevention, HIPAA, privacy/security) and external regulatory reports (EEOC, First Source).

Partner with Clinical and Program teams on talent strategy, succession planning, and workforce planning to support mission‑aligned teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.

Minimum of 7 years of human resources experience in a healthcare setting; 5 years in human resources management; 2 years managing health, welfare and retirement benefits.

SHRM‑CP or PHR highly desired; experience in a non‑profit setting preferred.

Proven knowledge of DC local, state, and federal employment laws; experience with leave administration (FMLA/ADA/DCPFL).

Strong coaching, documentation, internal investigation, and employee relations background.

Excellent communication, presentation, and technology skills; proficient with Microsoft Office, HRIS (UltiPro preferred).

Detail‑oriented, independent, and able to handle sensitive situations with discretion and confidentiality.
