Job Description Summary The service unit of GSI (Projects group inkling AC Substations, FACTS, and HVDC) based in La Prairie (QC) is looking for a tendering leader for Service activity covering North American market (Canada and USA) and other regions who would also manage complex bids.

Essential Responsibilities

Make sure the GE tendering policy is understood and properly applied across the team.

Manage mainly complex offers for North America and other regions from opportunity identification to execution of the purchase order.

Lead a complex bid process and liaise in a timely manner with different departments and internal business units to ensure GE can answer respecting deadlines and complying with customer requests.

Work with purchasing to support and obtain quotes for service estimates and with engineering to ensure GE’s offer complies with the customer’s RFQ.

Define market price levels, evaluate opportunities’ risk, manage timely delivery and accuracy of offers, follow up offers and help negotiate contracts with customers.

Read, understand and negotiate complex contractual terms as part of a customer RFQ.

Draw up a complex offer, technically and commercially in English.

Assist the Sales Team in major projects (80%) but also quoting small and large projects.

Develop internal relations with Business Development Managers and Key Account Managers.

Support and help define and implement commercial action plan to deliver the Unit's strategic objectives for order intake, sales revenue, etc.

Input SAP (ERP) data, SPEAK (CRM) input, follow up and reporting.

Responsible for all Service Tenders.

Set objectives and timelines for your team.

Participate in weekly review/pacing calls.

Educate/Guide the team.

Set training objectives and plans.

Identify recruitment needs.

Analyze RFQ risk, scope of solution, identify risks.

Work with Business Development and Sales to request missing information from RFQ documents.

Participate and contribute in GO/NO GO meetings.

Build commercial & technical proposal with costing & CMM.

Create technical requests in Service Responsiveness and communicate clearly to engineering.

For large offers, set pacing calls with disciplines.

Large offer deal desk reviews.

Offer administration (SAP creation/Box/SPEAK scope).

Set offer review meeting/seek approvals.

Work with Project management on change orders.

ITO to OTR transfers (review PO/contracts – identify deficiencies, non-conformance, omissions).

Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferably in electrical engineering, or equivalent.

Proven experience in a commercial AND tendering role in a similar commercial environment.

Experience in the high voltage transmission market preferred.

Knowledge of domestic environment is mandatory.

Fluent English mandatory, French would be a plus.
