The service unit of GSI, based in La Prairie (QC), is looking for a tendering leader to manage complex bid processes and lead the Service activity covering the North American market (Canada and the United States) and other regions.
Responsibilities
Ensure the GE tendering policy is understood and properly applied across the team.
Manage primarily complex offers for North America and other regions from opportunity identification to execution of the purchase order.
Lead a complex bid process and liaise in a timely manner with the different departments and internal business units to meet deadlines and comply with customer requests.
Work with purchasing to support and obtain quotes for service estimates and with engineering to ensure GE’s offer complies with the customer’s RFQ.
Define market price levels, evaluate opportunities’ risk, manage timely delivery and accuracy of offers, follow up on offers, and help negotiate contracts with customers.
Read, understand, and negotiate complex contractual terms as part of a customer RFQ.
Draw up a complex offer, technically and commercially in English.
Assist the Sales Team on major projects (80%) and on small and large quotes.
Develop internal relations with Business Development Managers and Key Account Managers.
Support and help define and implement a commercial action plan to deliver the Unit’s strategic objectives for order intake, sales revenue, etc.
Use SAP (ERP) input and reporting on productivity, SPEAK (CRM) input, follow up, and reporting.
Responsible for all Service Tenders.
Set objectives and timelines for the team.
Participate in weekly review/pacing calls.
Educate and guide the team.
Set training objectives and plans.
Identify any recruitment needs.
Analyze RFQ risk – scope of solution / identify risks.
Work with Business Development and Sales to request missing information from RFQ documents.
Participate and contribute in the GO/NO GO meeting.
Build commercial & technical proposals with costing & CMM (collaborate with Engineering/Supply chain/Field Operations/Operations Management).
Create technical requests in Service Responsiveness and communicate clearly to engineering.
For large offers, set pacing calls with disciplines.
For large offers, conduct Deal Desk reviews.
Offer administration (SAP creation/Box/SPEAK PL Scope).
Set offer review meeting and seek approvals.
Work with Project Management on change orders.
ITO to OTR transfers (review the PO/contracts – identify deficiencies, non‑conformance, omissions).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferably in electrical engineering, or equivalent.
Proven experience in a commercial AND tendering role in a similar commercial environment.
Experience in the high voltage transmission market preferred.
Knowledge of domestic environment is mandatory.
Fluent English mandatory, French would be a plus.
Desired Characteristics

Team player, adaptability, autonomy, resourcefulness and focus on customer service and problem solving.
Strong organizational skills, analytical and synthesis, and proactive leadership.
