Base pay range $175,000.00/yr - $195,000.00/yr

Our firm is devoted to the practice of public law and the financing of public infrastructure in the State of Texas. Our clients construct, finance, and operate the public water, sewer, drainage, road, and park facilities that serve residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed‑use development projects, allowing Texas to continue to grow and flourish. We have experienced significant growth, expanding to offices in Houston, Austin, and Dallas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise the firm’s finance and accounting functions

Lead a team including Accounts Payable and Accounting personnel

Monitor, forecast and manage the firm’s monthly cash flow

Ensure compliance with all accounting related laws and firm policies

Provide strategic recommendations to the Partners and COO on long‑term business and financial planning initiatives and impacts

Prepare, execute, and monitor the firm’s budgets and forecasts

Manage the firm’s external consultants and processes related to banking, taxes, insurance, and risk management

Prepare financial reports as necessary for analysis and to comply with internal and external reporting requirements, including monthly Partners meeting reports

Initiate and analyze areas of potential financial, policy or process improvements

Partner with Human Resources with respect to payroll and compensation matters

Calculation of monthly Partner distributions

Financial modeling for profitability, growth in headcount, realization rate and other levers

Present finance‑related topics to Executive Committee, Partnership, and firm management

Special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Prior Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related quantitative discipline is required

Master’s degree is preferred

10+ years relevant professional services industry experience and prior law firm experience is required

Experience using SurePoint LMS software is strongly preferred

Understanding of proper application of accounting concepts and principles

Familiarity with data & reporting tools

Experience in developing functional dashboard and scorecard reports

Exceptional technology skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly

Proficiency with Windows‑based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook and similar business software
