We are seeking a highly skilled

AWS Application Migration Lead

to drive the transformation of enterprise applications to AWS. This role focuses on

application-level migration and modernization , leveraging AWS native services and cloud-native design patterns. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Java-based applications, AWS services, and leading cross-functional teams through complex migration journeys.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the

migration of monolithic and legacy applications

to AWS using re-platforming and re-architecting strategies.

Design and implement

cloud-native solutions

using AWS services such as

EKS, ECS, Fargate, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, and IAM .

Drive

application containerization , orchestration, and deployment pipelines using Kubernetes (EKS) and CI/CD tools.

Ensure migrated applications meet performance, scalability, and security benchmarks aligned with AWS best practices.

Technical Leadership

Guide development teams in refactoring applications for cloud readiness, including breaking down monoliths into microservices.

Establish and enforce standards for

code quality, cloud architecture, and operational excellence .

Conduct technical reviews, sprint planning, and backlog grooming with a focus on cloud migration milestones.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with

DevOps, InfraOps, InfoSec, IAM, Networking , and

Application Owners

to ensure seamless migration and integration.

Translate business and technical requirements into actionable cloud migration plans.

Lead workshops and technical deep-dives to align stakeholders on migration strategy and execution.

Required Qualifications

10+ years

of experience in enterprise application development, with

5+ years

leading cloud migration initiatives on AWS.

Strong hands-on experience with

Java (Spring Boot)

and cloud-native development.

Proven expertise in

application migration

(not database-centric), including re-platforming and re-architecting for AWS.

Deep knowledge of AWS services relevant to application hosting, networking, security, and observability.

Experience with

CI/CD pipelines , infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and container orchestration (EKS, ECS).

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Certifications

(Solutions Architect or Developer).

Experience with

hybrid cloud environments

and enterprise-grade migration frameworks.

Familiarity with

security and compliance

in cloud environments (e.g., IAM, KMS).

Exposure to

observability tools

like CloudWatch, Splunk, NewRelic and distributed tracing.

The base salary range for the tagged location is [$106230 to $145000 annually- depending on relevant experience.

This role may be eligible for other compensation including variable compensation, bonus, or commission. Full time regular employees are eligible for paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees.
