Location: Denver, CO - Hybrid Work Schedule

CLP Engineering (CLPE) is seeking a talented and skilled Engineering Manager for our engineering team in Denver. CLPE is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years of experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through its sister company, City Light & Power.

Roles And Responsibilities

Lead the planning and tracking of the company budget.

Manage and coordinate the engineering hiring process, including job posting, candidate screening, interviews, offers and onboarding.

Develop and track engineering project budgets, providing updates to the Director of Engineering and participating in job cost meetings.

Support Engineering Supervisors by planning and updating engineering resources, forecasting manpower needs and comparing to current resources.

Work with the accounting team to set up new projects, charge codes, and project budgets.

Support the Business Development team in proposal writing, attending conferences, client interface meetings, and developing cost estimates.

Update and maintain proposal boilerplate contents such as project highlights, resumes, experience, company background, etc.

Support Marketing team to create and maintain website updates related to project highlights, awards, news, technical white papers, and other advertising content.

Develop and plan engineering activities including training, team building, and other miscellaneous activities.

Support the Director in developing new workflows, processes, and management tools to improve productivity.

Manage existing engineering libraries of standards, documents, processes and procedures and support the development of new documentation.

Build, maintain, and update the internal company website as a quick resource for the engineering team.

Participate in project team meetings to track engineering resource needs and in engineering budget and staffing meetings with accounting and finance, including the CFO.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or project management. Experience in the power or energy industry is a plus.

Eight plus (8+) years of experience in engineering team leadership/supervision, project management, or project engineering.

Experience in the power systems engineering industry is a strong plus.

Exceptional technical writing skills.

Proposal development experience and skills is a plus.

Hiring manager experience is a plus.

Outstanding communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work well with managers, peers, and junior staff.

Highly motivated with a proven track record in successfully driving end‑to‑end processes.

Work Authorization & Security Clearance You must be a US Citizen. You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance. Valid driver’s license required with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.

Benefits & Compensation CLP offers an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with company contribution, paid time off and paid holidays. Salary range: $100,000-$150,000 based on experience plus eligible for participation in the Short Term Incentive Plan. We reserve the right to pay more or less than the posted salary range based on factors unrelated to sex.
