Staff Accountant

to join our growing real estate investment team in San Diego. This is an

in-office position

where you’ll play a critical role in managing the financial operations for multiple multi-family properties and an investment fund used to acquire and flip new properties. You’ll oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and monthly closings. You’ll also collaborate closely with our CPA to prepare tax filings and ensure compliance with all financial and reporting requirements. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to shape financial processes in an entrepreneurial environment within the real estate and asset management space. How Success is Measured

Deliver

accurate and timely financial reports

to the CEO and key stakeholders. Maintain

clean, up-to-date books

with properly reconciled accounts for all entities. Ensure

smooth coordination with external CPA partners

during tax season and audits. Demonstrate

strong ownership and accountability

for financial data integrity across multiple properties and funds. Identify opportunities for

process improvement

and implement systems that increase financial visibility and efficiency. Qualities Needed to Succeed

The ideal candidate is someone who: Has a

strong understanding of real estate or real estate asset management accounting , including multi-entity structures. Is

highly organized

and capable of triaging through priorities. Communicates effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders, translating data into actionable insights. Operates with

integrity, curiosity, and a problem-solving mindset , always looking for ways to add value beyond the numbers. Brings a

team-player attitude

and collaborates seamlessly with the CEO, CPA, and other team members to achieve shared goals. Required Skills

2+ years managing end-to-end accounting within the real estate industry (real estate, construction, or investment management) using

Quickbooks. Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-basis accounting Proficiency in general ledger management, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end close. Experience managing accounts payable and accounts receivable. Proven ability to prepare financial statements and deliver management reports. Familiarity with consolidating multiple entities and intercompany transactions.
