Senior Director, Analyst – Risk Strategy for CIOs in Financial Services, Remote-US, Remote-EMEA
Gartner is looking for a Senior Research Director, Analyst to provide insight to CIOs in the Financial Services industry globally on their mission‑critical priorities related to protecting the firm from risk. Your experience will ideally come from working closely with CIOs, including expertise in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity strategy and governance, board communication, IT risk metrics, regulatory compliance, spending priorities, and strategic risk planning.
What you will do
Build authoritative insights that directly address the priorities and challenges of CIO clients aligned to the Financial Services sector.
Serve as an authority on how CIOs plan and execute risk management initiatives in IT.
Deliver strong positions on best and emerging practices for CIOs to manage risk, resulting in reduced operating losses and positive business results.
Support our sales and client service teams in delivering insight to clients and prospects.
Present research and thought leadership in one‑to‑one and one‑to‑many forums, including client presentations and Gartner events.
Develop predictions and scenarios about the future of risk technology in Financial Services and the implications and actions for CIOs.
What you will need
10+ years of relevant field or industry experience in a leadership role, including at least 3 years in banking technology, with subject‑matter expertise in financial services technology and risk.
Strong understanding of AI, threat detection, identity access management, data security, or endpoint detection.
Understanding of business and IT capabilities needed for banks to serve customers while maintaining trust and regulatory compliance.
Experience in vendor selection for risk applications.
Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data, applying frameworks to client challenges.
Excellent English communication skills; fluency in a second language is an advantage.
Demonstrated success presenting to C‑suite executives and public speaking engagements.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
Compensation Base salary range: $152,000 – $190,000. Employees may participate in an annual bonus plan or a role‑based incentive plan. Benefits include generous PTO, 401(k) match up to $7,200 per year, and stock purchase opportunities.
