Senior Staff Business Systems Analyst - Billing and Revenue

Overview
Intuit’s Finance team drives business growth and profitability through strategic, financial and operational transformation. This is not an IT role. This is a finance functional role in the Finance Digital Transformation and Governance (FDTG) team, within the Controllership, Assurance & Operations (CAO) organization. As an individual contributor, this position will interface between technology teams and finance process owners as an expert over monetization systems that include but are not limited to Billing, Revenue, Partnerships (SPM), Oracle eBusiness suite and item design systems. The individual in this role must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Quote to Cash and Revenue accounting processes, strong project management skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and exceptional change management skills. This role requires deep accounting process and domain knowledge, representing an end-to-end finance point of view with the ability to translate complex accounting requirements into system requirements, along with proven engagement on the software development lifecycle. The position will require strong cross-functional skills with a point of view that considers existing system architecture and design decisions, current and future processes, and inherent financial risks. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with diverse teams, communicate effectively at all levels within the organization, and apply quantitative and qualitative analytical methodologies to quickly research, understand and document new processes and requirements. Responsibilities
Finance Requirements Document – Translate complex accounting guidance and processes into system requirements. Consider end-to-end business processes, transactional flows, associated accounting impacts and required controls. Partner with teams to clarify accounting implications and process impact from a system/automation perspective. Attend requirements sessions, draft and deliver complete and accurate finance requirements documents, signed off by process owners. Solution Review and Signoff – Provide a point of view on the solution using end-to-end knowledge of accounting processes and controls. Communicate significant design decisions and process changes to finance stakeholders with a view on risk, resources and financial impacts. Validate the solution for financial implications and provide input on system design, gaps and deferrals with prioritization and potential manual workarounds. Testing – Align on testing approaches and scenarios with technology teams, focusing on financial risk mitigation and validating that the solution meets finance requirements. Lead User Acceptance Testing coordination with process owners and review testing evidence for accuracy of accounting results as needed. Change management – drive overall change management, communication and training to accounting process owners throughout the software lifecycle to ensure a smooth transition; final deliverable is a process hand-off document for knowledge transfer. Release/Issues Management – Conduct a risk-based review of monthly system releases, identify issues with regard to financial risk, and prioritize backlog items and defects for resolution. Qualifications
Education
Bachelors degree in Accounting with a minimum of 7-10 years of functional finance/business systems experience or equivalent experience Experience
At least five to seven years of Billing, Quote to Cash, Revenue, Accounting, Financial system implementation experience, with experience in requirements documentation, solution review and testing validation as a functional lead Experience with Oracle BRM, RevStream, Partner Revshare systems and Oracle eBusiness Suite or similar systems (such as Zuora, Billing Platform, Oracle Revenue Cloud) is preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Accounting and financial domain knowledge with deep understanding of AR, Revenue, Deferred revenue accounting, indirect tax and related transactional flows Strong systems and process orientation with analytical thinking, organizational skills and problem solving Project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects Excellent written and verbal communications, presentation and influencing skills, including the ability to raise issues appropriately to the right level internally and externally Ability to speak both accounting and technical language for the right audiences Ability to influence others and indirectly manage teams to execute complex initiatives Capacity to navigate complexity and manage across functions to achieve large-scale goals Comfort working in cross-functional teams and willingness to voice opinions Ability to understand both business/accounting needs and the technologies to implement them Experience identifying systemic and process risks and how to mitigate them
