Overview

25-26 Testing Coordinator - ACCESS and MCAS at Somerville Public Schools. This role involves coordinating state testing processes (ACCESS for ELLs and MCAS) in accordance with DESE schedules and requirements. Responsibilities

Monitor DESE’s statewide testing schedule and communicate dates with the MCAS team and other stakeholders. Continuously monitor student enrollment to claim newly enrolled students. Create, maintain, and share MCAS lists throughout the academic year with the principal, guidance staff, and other personnel; provide relevant data as needed. Oversee and coordinate all MCAS tests (ELA, Math, Science) per DESE schedule. Work with the SPS District Administrator, DESE, and supervisor to gain access to necessary portals and testing websites (DESE Security Portal, MCAS Service Center, PearsonAccess Next). Review, understand, and share MCAS and student assessment updates, deadlines, policy changes, and other important information from DESE with the administrative team and staff as needed. Annually review all DESE training materials, webinars, and websites to understand all aspects of testing (manuals, updates, modules, test security requirements, accommodations for Special Education/ELs, student participation requirements). Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate MCAS meetings, agendas, and minutes. Monitor DESE Dropbox/CSV files and import to Pearson Access by DESE deadlines for ELA, Math, and Science MCAS. Create a master testing list and testing plan (identify and assign rooms, plan lunches, makeup days). Create and send communications about testing to principals, students, families, and staff. Collaborate with IT to prepare Chromebooks for testing. Add 504 and IEP testing accommodations to CSV files. Order and return all testing materials and paper tests by deadlines. Determine teacher availability each year and assign proctor responsibilities. Prepare training materials and presentations for staff who will proctor tests. Work with MLE and Special Education Department Chairs to support the needs of students for each test. Monitor DESE Security Dropbox data as needed. Order and organize all required testing materials. Prepare Cognia system for testing and print tickets; assign additional accommodations in Cognia as needed. Keep the website and all relevant documents updated with testing schedules and information. In collaboration with administration, complete the annual discrepancy reporting per DESE schedule for review. MCAS Alternative Assessment

Determine who is taking MCAS Alt. by working with staff who oversee portfolio development. Order MCAS Alt portfolios by deadline and ensure returns by deadline. Send MCAS Alt reports to students and families. Work with IT to have MCAS Alt results added to Aspen. Distribute final portfolios to the Special Education Department. ACCESS Testing

Coordinate and oversee ACCESS testing and schedule with the MLE Department Chair. Validate ACCESS information after testing completion. Order testing materials and organize for testing. Monitor and oversee the WIDA AMS for ACCESS testing. Prepare testing materials, test sessions, and tickets. Terms Of Employment
