Summary of Work Performed: Under the general supervision of a supervisor or an employee of equal or higher rank, the Manufacturing Engineer - Resource Programmer IV will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for effective design of manufacturing resources including: Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) numerical controlled (NC) programs, Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) tools/fixtures, loft patterns, and operational models with associated 2D drawings. Must have knowledge of shop production and processing operations. Work in accordance with management strategies and concepts as well as program and departmental processes and procedures using Bell Business Systems. May direct, mentor, and train one or more employees.
Work Performed:
Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various engineering drawings, models, bills of materials, technical specifications, quality documents, Bell Process Framework, and departmental procedures as necessary to perform assigned work.
Provide MCAD operational models and 2D drawings for manufacturing process planning sequences as required.
Support manufacturing operations when MCAD models with 2D drawings exist as needed.
Develop, create, and maintain tooling/fixture definitions for manufacturing operations across all media types, including MCAD and manual legacy designs.
Execute creation and maintenance of CAM programs and operator instructions for NC equipment.
Develop, create, and maintain Loft MCAD models, flat patterns, and associated digital tooling programs.
Maintain working knowledge of NC programming, Loft, engineering, tool design, manufacturing, and planning processes and procedures.
Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge and be prepared to train, direct, instruct, mentor, and validate production engineering work.
Attend training and complete competency-based testing as required by management to stay current with technological advancements.
Educational Requirements:
Four (4) years college or eight (8) years of experience in the aircraft industry. Demonstrated capability to perform the essential functions related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
