General Purpose of the Role This Manager, Corporate Compliance will report to the Director, Corporate Compliance and will review proposed arrangements with referral sources across the country to ensure compliance and low risk. The Manager will provide compliance guidance considering federal fraud, waste, and abuse laws and other health care regulatory laws and will liaise between business clients, legal, and compliance to ensure low fraud, waste, and abuse risk in DaVita’s agreements with referral sources.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Understand the Anti‑Kickback Statute and apply compliance concepts.

Review documentation and information regarding potential arrangements with referral sources to assess compliance risk, including business rationale, partner selection criteria, and fair market value.

Review drafted referral source agreements, such as medical director agreements, personal services agreements, transactions, and leases, for compliance and potential violation of laws, regulations, or internal policies.

Prioritize arrangement reviews and projects based on business needs and changing priorities.

Interact regularly with business leaders to apply compliance principles to business practices.

Collaborate with compliance, regulatory attorneys, business attorneys, IT, finance, clinical, and business stakeholders to identify and resolve compliance matters.

Advise on compliance with federal healthcare industry laws and regulations.

Manage special projects as needed.

Support the Director, Corporate Compliance in maintaining aspects of the seven elements of an effective compliance program for DaVita’s business lines as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience in the health care industry required.

JD or LLM preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal or compliance professional assessing Anti‑Kickback Statute and related risks.

Substantial knowledge of health care fraud, waste, and abuse laws and regulations, including the Anti‑Kickback Statute.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to manage several matters at one time in a fast‑paced environment.

Experience working with Salesforce is a plus.

Office‑based at DaVita headquarters at least two days per week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and additional days as required.

Travel out‑of‑state at least once per year for conferences or meetings.

Proactive identification and mitigation of risks with legal, compliance, and business partners.

Use of data and systems to support broader compliance risk mitigation strategies.

Provide valuable advice within the context of the broader business and enterprise level objectives.

Demonstrated business acumen and ability to see the big picture and detailed business issues.

Hands‑on, efficient, and proven ability to “Get Stuff Done” with a bias for action and strong sense of ownership.
