Position Purpose Provides individual and group career coaching to a diverse undergraduate student body at all levels of academic progress. Facilitates workshops and events and develops resources to support career exploration, development of career-related skills/competencies and application processes related to internship/entry level job search and graduate/professional school.
Responsibilities
Coaches students at all levels of academic progress in career exploration, job and internship search, candidate skill development, networking, application and interview preparation, through individual and group coaching. (50% of time)
Routinely develops and conducts career-related workshops and events for all students. (15%)
Collaborates with Dartmouth career community to increase outreach and student engagement. (15%)
Monitors hiring and employment trends to stay up-to-date and help prepare students for future success. (10%)
Collaborates with colleagues on team projects and initiatives. (10%)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp:
Masters or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Two years of professional experience in career education, business and/or similar employment
Strong coaching and interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation of workshops
Experience in program and project development and implementation
Familiarity with career, employment and hiring trends
Demonstrated cultural competence and proven effectiveness in serving the needs of a diverse undergraduate student population
Strong time-management skills
Proficient with technology and able to learn new systems quickly and easily
Demonstrated team player who takes initiative
Commitment to working some evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supervising students
Familiarity with use of AI in career development
Easily adapts to changes within a fast-paced environment
