District Support Pharmacist PT (DSP) – CVS Health Overview

CVS Health is seeking a part-time District Support Pharmacist to cover pharmacist scheduling gaps within the district, support pharmacy teams, and oversee pharmacy operations under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager and Rx District Leader. DSPs travel to stores, support safe and accurate dispensing, immunizations, patient care, and pharmacy workflow. They model CVS Health values and provide compassionate, authentic care to patients and colleagues. Responsibilities

Help manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Travel within the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled; oversee pharmacy operations as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap. Support safe, accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Assume day-to-day Pharmacy Manager duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty. Foster positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and coaching the pharmacy team to do the same; collaborate with the patient’s healthcare team; resolve insurance and medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations where permissible and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize. Support inventory management across pharmacies, with emphasis on protecting cold chain products. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs; contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintain clinical and technical skills; complete required trainings and CMEs; seek opportunities to expand knowledge to support patients. Support access to care and patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care (e.g., testing and prescribing services where permissible). Understand and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and CVS Health policies; ensure patient safety and secure, compliant operation of the pharmacy. Qualifications

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list Essential Functions

Ability to travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as needed Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe Attention and Focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot between tasks as needed, and verify prescription information for accuracy Customer Service and Team Orientation: help people in a friendly manner and respond to patient reactions appropriately Communication Skills: verbal and written communication with patients and colleagues; active listening Mathematical Reasoning: determine prescription quantities, days supply, and related calculations Problem Resolution: navigate challenging interactions and choose appropriate actions Physical Demands: mobility, lifting, reaching, repetitive finger movements, and visual acuity for small parts; occasional lifting up to 20 lbs Additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting Additional Information
