Virginia Mason is seeking a certified Medical Assistant to assist providers and the health care team in the clinic, performing back office and patient-related tasks and ensuring smooth patient flow within the department. You will perform a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant scope of practice, including but not limited to injections, EKGs, ear lavage, blood draws, and measuring vital signs, while managing rooming, pre-visit preparation, patient visits, and post-visit duties. You will inform providers of schedule changes, assist with front office activities, and report test results as directed by the provider. As a Medical Assistant, you will contribute to a Team Medicine approach and benefit from the Virginia Mason Production System model focused on improving access to care, reducing errors, and enhancing patient safety and quality. Assist providers and health care team in the clinic with back office and patient-related tasks Perform procedures within the Medical Assistant scope (e.g., injections, EKGs, blood draws, vital signs) Manage rooming and patient flow, including pre-visit preparation, assisting with visits, and post-visit duties Inform providers of schedule changes impacting patient flow Assist with front office activities and varied scheduling tasks Report test results as directed by the provider Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program Washington State Department of Health Medical Assistant - Certified (CM) Knowledge of third-party payer requirements Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in using a PC One year Medical Assistant – Certified experience preferred About the employer and location
