About the Manufacturing Company / The Opportunity: Are you a skilled Controls Engineer passionate about industrial automation and process optimization? This role is based in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and provides the chance to make a direct impact in enhancing operations such as melting, pouring, molding, and finishing. Contribute to controls and automation initiatives that improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency. Optimize PLC, HMI, SCADA, robotic, and motion control systems to improve cycle time and product quality. Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to design, program, and commission new automation solutions. Ensure the reliability and uptime of automation and control systems in high-temperature foundry environments. Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues in melting, pouring, and finishing operations. Lead automation projects from concept through execution, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. Drive continuous improvement efforts using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance staff on control systems. Must-Have Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in industrial automation and controls, preferably in a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMIs, SCADA, industrial robotics, and IoT solutions. Hands-on experience optimizing casting processes (centrifugal, investment, sand casting) through automation. Proven track record of leading automation projects from concept to execution. Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Knowledge of process control systems and methodologies. Familiarity with high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments. Experience working in high-temperature foundry settings. Strong troubleshooting skills for complex control systems. Seniority level
