The
RISE Mentorship Program
is a year-long immersive experience designed to support new veterinary graduates as they transition from an academic setting into clinical practice. RISE Centers pair new graduate veterinarians with experienced mentors to provide hands-on learning, real-time case management, and professional development. Participants join a nationwide cohort of peers, building a supportive network that lasts beyond the program. Who is this program for?
New veterinary graduates who are eager to practice high-quality medicine and grow their clinical skills in a supportive, real-world setting. Candidates interested in working in General Practice (GP), Emergency (ER), or Mixed Animal Practices, depending on location availability. What does this program offer?
Full-Time employment in a RISE Center with hands-on mentorship, while gradually transitioning to independently managing a caseload. Dual Mentorship Model: On-site support from a "home hospital" mentor and centralized guidance from the national mentorship team. Smith Animal Hospital has been a fixture in the community and serving the surrounding area since 1950. We pride ourselves on the strong and trusting partnerships we build with our clients while also having a zero tolerance policy for verbal abuse or mistreatment of our staff. We have worked hard to develop a culture where providing the best care and service to our patients is an everyday priority. Our support staff and DVMs are encouraged to learn new skills and grow in their profession so that everyone feels fulfilled in their careers. Expert veterinary care with a well-equipped hospital including but not limited to : Well-established client base Modern, up to date facility 2.5 support staff to DVM ratio Full time RVT with multiple other assistants eligible for their boards Digital radiography and ability to send studies out for specialist review Dental radiology. Our technicians have taken additional outside training to obtain images accurately and efficiently Ultrasound Full Idexx laboratory suite including Procyte, Catalyst, Sedivue, and Coags On-Site Pharmacy Well Equipped Surgery Suite Multiparameter monitoring including capnography No after-hours on call! We have a local ER for patients who need after hours care Top-notch staff in a collaborative team. Multiple staff members have been tenured at the practice for over 5 years Compensation
