RETAINED SEARCH | HYBRID ROLE
Overview Well-financed, stable, and profitable commercial-stage pharma with $1.5B in sales and a $9B market cap, focused on oncology. Newly-created role with direct reports, reporting to a C-level executive. Hybrid role with minimal on-site requirements; flexibility to live in the Northeastern United States within Eastern Time Zone.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify, source, and negotiate the full spectrum of BD&L activities including in- and out-licensing, research collaborations, global partnerships (co-development and co-commercialization), and acquisitions.
Lead teams responsible for commercial and scientific assessment of BD opportunities, build deal models, negotiate contracts, and manage data rooms.
Develop new relationships with key stakeholders, academic institutions, and future industry partners; maintain relationships with current collaboration partners.
Build out the BD&L and Alliance Management infrastructure for the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ideally 12+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech with oncology BD leadership experience (TA lead or department lead) in a clinical-stage or small/mid-size commercial company.
Advanced scientific education (PhD, PharmD, MD, MS) preferred; MBA or JD a plus.
Demonstrated oncology BD&L experience in at least two of: in-licensing, out-licensing, M&A, research collaborations, co-development partnerships, or co-commercial partnerships.
Experience in Alliance Management is a plus; breadth of knowledge for leading BD in a smaller environment (scientific, regulatory, IP/legal, negotiation, analytics, leadership, project management, communication).
Prior direct report experience and global work experience are advantageous.
Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
LOCATION This is a hybrid role with office locations in the New York City and Boston metro areas. Minimal on-site requirements. Candidates located in the Eastern Time Zone and within reasonable travel distance from those offices are preferred (e.g., MA, NJ, NY, PA, CT, MD, DC, VA, NC, DE, ME, RI, OH).
