Position Summary Engineers and Engineering Specialists (Level I–IV/V) are managed under the Non‑Nuclear Engineering Career Path. Assignments develop general engineering practice in the electric utility industry and introduce customer/supplier communication skills.
Responsibilities Engineering:
Daily support for Operations and Maintenance; trending system performance; initiating actions to restore/improve reliability; troubleshooting off‑normal conditions; failure and root cause analysis; evaluating proposed configuration changes; recommending asset value maintenance; coordinating maintenance projects; capital project management and implementation.
Education, Training and Experience
Engineering Specialist Level IV/V
– Associates Degree in an Electronic/Electrical/Mechatronics discipline or related field with 3–5 years of utility industry experience.
Engineer Level I
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution OR Professional Engineering License and Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a non‑ABET accredited school.
Engineer Level II
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution OR Professional Engineering License obtained by accredited examination.
Engineer Level III
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution OR Professional Engineering License obtained by accredited examination.
Engineer Level IV
– Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution or Professional Engineering License obtained by accredited examination.

Engineering Specialist (Level IV)
– Full competence in a specific discipline; broad engineering support; project management skills.
Engineering Specialist (Level V)
– Full competence in a specific discipline with expertise in past assignments; broad engineering support; advanced project management skills.
Engineer Level I
– Limited scope tasks under direction of experienced personnel; standard engineering practices; customer/supplier communication.
Engineer Level II
– Limited scope tasks under direction of experienced personnel; moderate scope assignments; independent technical judgment.
Engineer Level III
– Detailed development, planning, and implementation of moderate scope assignments; consulting technical specialties; broad knowledge in discipline.
Engineer Level IV
– Intensive engineering knowledge and full technical responsibility; interpretation, organization, and execution of assignments.

Salary Information
Engineer Level I – Exempt Pay Grade 12: $6,638 – $8,384 monthly
Engineer Level II – Exempt Pay Grade 13: $7,445 – $9,404 monthly
Engineer Level III – Exempt Pay Grade 14: $8,466 – $10,904 monthly
Engineer Level IV – Exempt Pay Grade 15: $9,715 – $12,512 monthly
Engineering Specialist (Level IV) – Exempt Pay Grade 13: $7,445 – $9,404 monthly
Engineering Specialist (Level V) – Exempt Pay Grade 14: $8,466 – $10,904 monthly
Travel Required Travel required may fluctuate by business need. Estimate will be discussed further with candidates that receive an interview.
